Alleged Porch Pirates Nabbed For 11 Larcenies In Nassau County: Police

An alleged porch pirate is accused of nearly a dozen larcenies on Long Island.

Police apprehended the man in connection to four larcenies that occurred on September 10, in the village Garden City.

According to detectives, Old Westbury Police observed a 2023 Toyota Prius traveling northbound on Red Ground Road with a cracked windshield. The vehicle was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. 

During the investigation, it was determined the vehicle was connected to multiple larcenies of packages within Garden City. 

The driver, New York City resident Gia Kharshiladze, age 38, of Brooklyn, was found responsible for removing numerous other packages from outside of residences throughout Nassau County and was arrested.

The Garden City, Rockville Centre, Muttontown, and Nassau County police departments collaborated and found Kharshiladze to be responsible for larcenies at seven additional locations.

Kharshiladze has been charged with 11 counts of petit larceny. 

He was released on an appearance ticket returnable on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at First District Court in Hempstead.
